With 140 guest rooms, you will find a choice of accommodations. In addition to children, pets are always welcome. All of the guest accommodations include cable TV, a coffee maker and hair dryer. A copy of a local paper is delivered to your door each morning. Standard Room have either King or 2 double beds facing surrounding residential area. Table and chairs. First floor has a patio, second floor has a balcony. Drive-up parking.

When it's time to play, head for the tennis courts, paddle boats or the links.

Play golf at either the Lake San Marcos Country Club par 72 championship course, or at the challenging picturesque 18-hole, par 58 Executive Golf course. There are over a dozen PGA golf courses in the area, including the world famous Torrey Pines Golf Course overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Party boats are available for fun on the water. Be sure to explore the gorge at the south end of the lake. It's a virtual wildlife sanctuary inhabited by cranes, egrets, herons and other exotic birds.

Relax at either of two sparkling swimming pools, unwind in the Outdoor Spa, enjoy the picnic area or just sit on your patio and watch the swans as they majestically make their way across the lake. There's also a well-equipped fitness center if you feel inclined to work out.

The Quails Inn Hotel meeting facilities can easily accommodate conferences, seminars, retreats and meetings for groups up to 300 people. A fully equipped kitchen and staff are prepared to cater everything from coffee breaks to banquets. For a breath of fresh air, groups can be served coffee or meals on the outdoor covered patio.

Although the location is quiet and secluded, the Quails Inn Hotel at Lake San Marcos is just a short drive up the coast from downtown San Diego. you're less than 30 minutes from the world famous San Diego zoo and Sea World. nearby attractions include one of the most beautiful beaches in southern California, the flower fields of Carlsbad, home of Legoland children's theme park, the Del Mar Fairgrounds and race track, the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park.

Commercial air transportation is available at the McClellan Palomar airport in Carlsbad, only twelve minutes away, 45 minutes north of the San Diego international airport. Amtrak service is also available.

DIRECTIONS from From I-15:

• Travel west on Highway 78 approximately six miles to San Marcos Boulevard. Travel west on San Marcos Boulevard approximately 2 miles to Rancho Santa Fe Road. Turn left, travel less than a mile to first stop light, marked Lake San Marcos Drive.
• Turn left on Lake San Marcos Drive to the stop sign at dead end, and turn left onto San Marino Drive.
• Turn right at next stop sign, on La Bonita Drive, and almost immediately, turn left again into hotel entrance.
